Is a thousand-point Cities of Death game the ultimate 40K experience?
The advantages:
- Easier to collect, assemble, and paint 1000 (or maybe 1500, if you want a lot of options) of troops, instead of the 2000 - 2500 for a sizeable 40K army.
- Grittier battles that don't offer ridiculous lanes of fire. Different from the fights on open tabletops which are better suited to Warhammer Fantasy or other games without long range, insta-kill weapons.
- Stratagems!
- A more narrative game, including special scenarios. Is a straight up Annihilation game that compelling?
