Possible CNC training project?

Since I'm done with the Techno Router SBU (and taking the ShopBot SBU tonight) I'll need some practice on the machines -- and 3D software.

1 ft. square battle board with hill and large crater, made in SketchUp

We machined a small (about 2 cu. in.) 3D form out of blue foam on the Techno router, which had a good amount of detail with smooth surfaces.

I figure it should be able to cut the simple slopes required for game board tiles as well. Workholding for 1' x 1' is not a problem, but the standard 2' x 2' might need to wait for the ShopBot.

Since GW's Battle Board is almost $50 a tile (sans painting or terrain), I think I can do better -- and this way avoids the need for a hot knife.
